The 37th International Conference of the Haskins Society

26-28 October 2018

University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill

Registration is now open! Click the button below to the left.
More information on lodgings, area attractions, travel, etc., is available via the menus above.

Please note several extra opportunities for participants in the conference:
  • New Research Forum

On Friday morning, the conference hosts a New Research Forum to highlight new research and work in progress. Modeled on “flash sessions,” the presenters explain their projects in five minutes as a prelude to in-depth small group discussions.

  • Thursday Afternoon/Evening Mock Interviews (25 October)

To support graduate student members of the Haskins Society in their career development, the Haskins Conference is again offering mock job interviews with senior scholars on Thursday afternoon and evening. Please contact Nicholas Paul to indicate interest in being interviewed.

Support for Graduate Students

In order to encourage and support rising scholars, graduate student members of the Society are eligible to receive support from the Thomas Keefe memorial fund to cover the costs of registration. In addition, thanks to generous support from the University of North Carolina and Society members, a number of bursaries are available to defray travel expenses.

Bethell Prize

Papers by graduate students, untenured faculty, and independent scholars are eligible for the Denis Bethell Prize. For details, see the "Denis Bethell Prize" link here or under the Journal menu above.
